SUSTAINABILITY - Our Sustainability Principles
SUSTAINABILITY - Our Sustainability Principles
At Elm & Grey the question of sustainability has become integral to our decisions as a business. We believe it is a journey not a destination
We are a young business so from the beginning we have made it a priority to consider our impact on the environment in the development of our fragrance, and décor product ranges.
Our sustainability strategy is focused on where we can have the biggest positive impact. In formulating our strategy, we consider what matters most to our stakeholders as well as industry trends.
We centre our sustainability strategy on three key pillars:
- Environmental Game Changers – reducing waste and single-use plastics. – our initiatives include:
- Opting to use glass in our fragrance range to enable clients to reuse and recycle easily
- Opting to introduce refills for our hand wash, hand lotion and our diffuser ranges
- Using sustainable packaging and reusing packaging where possible
- Health and Wellbeing – where we can we are helping people to make better choices and be supported in their mental health by
- Introducing fragrances known for relaxation such as Lavender
- Promoting a lifestyle which includes restful and mindful moments
- Better for the World – sourcing responsibly and enriching local communities by
- Proactively sourcing sustainable products such as
- Our range of metal bowls and objet created from recycled machine parts
- Our handmade trays from the Southwest of England created using a waste product from the China Clay industry
- Working towards a BCorp accreditation in the next 24 months
- Seeking to source products from female entrepreneurs and small businesses
We want a sustainable future. It encompasses our values as an ethical, sustainable, and inclusive business; the commitments we make to our people, our clients and our suppliers. Our focus is to have a positive impact on the world through sourcing responsibly, enriching lives and collaborating for change.
